“I found this Banff accommodation appealing, especially for families who need room to spread out. The indoor waterpark and play areas offer reliable kid distractions. Although the décor shows its age, the practical amenities, like full kitchens and fireplaces, create a cozy, functional home base near Tunnel Mountain hikes.”

Review summary
Based on recent reviews
Powered by AI
Douglas Fir Resort & Chalets are widely appreciated for their family-suite rooms equipped with kitchen facilities and utensils, making it easy to cook your own meals. Guests frequently mention the convenience of the free shuttle into town and the proximity to a Roam bus stop right across from the hotel. Many rooms feature darted decor, a balcony with superb views-Mt Rundle, in particular, gets high praise-and generally offer a spacious layout, although some guests have noted that the chalets could use some updating. The water slide and heated outdoor pool are a hit with children, and covered parking is often available.

AWESOME family Getaway!

great pool quiet location
I loved the pool and waterslides. My kids were SO happy! The location is GREAT it's in a quieter part of town. We spotted lots of wildlife RIGHT on a beautiful trail, like deer and ground squirrels.

Acceptable Stay with Some Issues

free bus passes convenient location working equipment faulty air conditioning outdated room closed pool
The location was really convenient! They gave us free bus passes. The bus stop was just outside, so it was easy to get around. The room also had all necessary utensils and equipment worked just fine.
The air conditioning did not work great! It was hot! Our room definitely needed updating. The pool wasn't working and laundry facilities were shut down, a major disappointment.
